In the last days of October 2017 Valletta campus of the University of Malta hosted a 2-day National Teacher Training in the frames of the MOV-Up project. The training was opened by Prof Carmel Cefai from University of Malta who presented the training aims and scope. Prof Valerie Sollars, University of Malta spoke about “Creating positive learning environments for children’s social and emotional development”. The first day of the training included also the presentations of Dr. Maria Ampartzaki from University of Crete (Greece) on “Historical art and inquiry-based learning as a means for developing emotional intelligence ” and Prof. Paula de Waal, Collodi Foundation (Italy) with “Storytelling approaches to promote the Valorization of Differences”.
The second day of the training continued with the workshop of Renata Jankeviciene and Jurgita Vaitiekuniene from the District Education Centre of Panevėžys (Lithuania) on “The importance of games and experiments in nature while developing emotional intelligence” and practical examples for “Emotional Education in STEM classes”, presented by Zuhal Yılmaz Doğan and Ebru Üntürk from Doga Schools, Istanbul (Turkey). The program concluded with the contribution from Iglika Angelova (ICCF, Bulgaria) on “Accelerating children’s values formation in learning environment” and an introductory workshop “Implementing a resilience curriculum in early years education” by Prof Carmel Cefai, University of Malta.
